Job Title: Virtual Infrastructure Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Virtual Infrastructure Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring the reliability and stability of our VCF stack, which includes vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Operations (vROps), and NSX. You will work closely with our customer IT teams to maintain platform health, implement changes, and proactively optimize capacity and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day 2 Operations & Reliability: Monitor, triage, and resolve incidents; drive problem management and root cause analysis.
  • Platform Administration: Perform routine health checks and remediation across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vROps.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong technical skills and experience working with VMware virtualization and software-defined data center operations. Specific requirements include:

  • vSphere Administration: Strong hands-on experience with vSphere administration in production, including cluster design, HA/DRS, VM lifecycle, patching/updates.
  • vSAN Operations: Practical experience with vSAN operations, including policy-based management, health & performance troubleshooting.
  • NSX Day 2 Operations: Working knowledge of NSXT for day 2 ops, including overlay/segments, basic routing concepts (T0/T1 awareness), distributed firewall rule creation/validation, NAT.
  • vROps/Aria Operations: Experience with vROps/Aria Operations for monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting.
  • Data Center Networking: Solid understanding of data center networking (L2/L3 fundamentals) and storage basics.
  • Change/Incident Processes: Comfortable with change/incident processes (ITIL-aligned) and writing/runbook documentation.
