Key Responsibilities:

  • The role holder will be responsible for vendor sourcing and management, including sourcing new vendors, onboarding new vendors, scheduling, buying/ordering, ensuring timely payments, and debits to vendors as per process.
  • The role holder will also manage the assigned category and related product/merchandise selection, including identifying products, offers, and negotiating the best rates.
  • Analysis of consumption patterns across various geographies will be a key responsibility, along with ensuring profitable growth for the categories.
  • Inventory control, team management, conducting competition benchmarking, and market visits will also be part of the role.
  • Data analysis, planning, and forecasting, sales growth, product enhancement, and product lifecycle management will be crucial skills required for the position.
  • He/she will be responsible for managing a team of officers/promoters and must be an excellent team manager, preparing and presenting reports, and required to travel.

Requisites:

  • Must be a graduate/postgraduate/MBA with minimum 10 years experience in FMCG (sales GT background)/General Merchandising Product base industry (sales background) with good understanding of category.
  • Communication, negotiation, planning, delegation, coordination, follow-up, and team handling skills are essential.
  • Good interpersonal skills are needed to maintain working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel is a must.
