Sr SQL Server Database Administrator – Azure

As a seasoned Sr SQL Server Database Administrator in our team, you will be responsible for the management and administration of SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and cost-efficiency on-premises and in the Azure cloud.

You will plan, implement, and oversee Azure SQL Subscription services, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. This role requires hands-on experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and monitoring to maximize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining disaster recovery, backups, and high availability solutions, such as Always On and Geo-Replication, as well as implementing and monitoring security policies, access controls, and compliance standards to ensure data integrity.

This position also involves working closely with development and DevOps teams to support CI/CD and database lifecycle management, promoting collaboration and efficiency within the team.

Required Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA with expertise in Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Subscription management.
  • Hands-on experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting database issues, and migration projects from on-premises SQL Server to Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL, backup/recovery, replication, indexing, and security configurations, as well as familiarity with Azure services like Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, and Azure Automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and infrastructure-as-code tools.
