Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability.

The successful candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, Always On Availability Groups, and cloud migrations (AWS preferred). They will lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups in production environments, and plan and implement database migrations to AWS with minimal downtime.

In addition, they will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance, perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing, collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency, develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions)
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
