Role: Senior SQL Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced and skilled professional to join our organization as a Senior SQL Database Administrator.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL Server databases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL 2005 – SQL 2022 servers.
  • Patching and Upgrades: Apply Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, Hotfixes (GDR, QFE), and upgrade/migrate SQL Server from older versions to newer ones.
  • Backup and Recovery: Configure recovery models, design backup strategies, fine-tune backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters.
  • HADR and Clustering: Configure Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG & Replication, and Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands.
  • Always-On AG Scenarios: Handle advanced Always-On AG scenarios like Failover, adding new data/log files, understanding Lease Timeout, Health check timeout, and Failure Condition Level parameters.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • SQL Server Architecture: Strong knowledge on SQL Server Architecture, parameters, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures.
  • HA/ DR Solutions: Administration and configuration of HA/ DR solutions – Clustering, Always-ON Group etc.
  • Replications and Patch Management: Configuring and managing all types of Replications and patch management.
  • Server Capacity Monitoring: Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities.
  • Automation: Automation using scripts and tools in the area of Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management.
  • SQL Server Tuning: SQL Server Tuning.
