Overview

Societe Generale Assurances seeks a seasoned finance professional to lead our accounting and taxation functions in Mumbai, India. As Finance Manager - Banking Industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with local and group regulations, managing financial reporting, and driving process improvements.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced finance expert with 7-8 years of experience in the banking industry. Your expertise should include in-depth knowledge of accounting standards, tax compliance, and risk management. You will be responsible for:

  • Managing accounting operations, including general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with local and group accounting standards, as well as French requirements.
  • Leading monthly closings and managing reporting to the Group CFO.
  • Implementing financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
  • Representing the finance department in various KPI meetings and governance meetings.

Responsibilities

In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for:

  • Monitoring tax legislation and ensuring direct and indirect tax compliances on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Coordinating with tax consultants for tax assessments and litigation matters.
  • Representing the company in all tax assessments and litigations.
  • Managing tax-related projects, including advance pricing agreement filings and finalization.
  • Complying with transfer pricing requirements, both at the group and local levels.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Chartered Accountant degree and relevant certifications.
  • At least 7-8 years of experience in the banking industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal partners and clients.
