Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Product Operations Manager to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in the co-leadership and management of our complex, globally deployed software product.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing operational aspects, mitigating risks, managing incidents, providing end-user support, and ensuring security, compliance, and sustainability requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Oversight: Oversee the operational aspects of one or more software applications within the product, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
  2. Risk Mitigation: Proactively detect and resolve operational risks, preventing potential disruptions to our services.
  3. Incident Management: Manage and troubleshoot incidents, including investigating and resolving recurring issues to minimize downtime.
  4. User Support: Provide end-user support, communication, knowledge-base documentation, and training to ensure users have the necessary skills to effectively utilize our products.
  5. Vulnerability Management: Lead vulnerability management efforts, ensuring security, compliance, usability, performance, and sustainability requirements are met.
  6. Licenses and Upgrades: Ensure license compliance, apply patches, and manage roll-outs and upgrades to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of our products.
  7. Team Coordination: Coordinate small teams of external application supporters, ensuring effective prioritization of operational activities and alignment with business objectives.
  8. Performance Monitoring: Monitor key system performance metrics and facilitate operational excellence of the product, ensuring cost-effectiveness and sustainability, including external resourcing and process automation.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance standards and policies for GxP products/services, where applicable.
  10. Operational Roadmaps: Reflect operational activities and outcomes on product roadmaps, ensuring strategic alignment and informed decision-making.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in computer sciences, business, or similar field.
  • Proven experience in software support, IT operations, or software development within complex business environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM).
  • Experience with DevOps tools.
  • Proficiency with troubleshooting in Linux-based environments.
  • Foundation in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud environments.
  • Understanding of authentication protocols.
  • At least 7 years of relevant subject matter expertise, obtained through experience or education in software support or operations in a complex environment.
