Regional Collections Leadership Role

This senior leadership position is focused on driving regional collections success through effective team management, process optimization, and strategic collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microfinance or NBFC collections, with at least 3-4 years of experience in a regional managerial role.

  • Lead a high-performing regional collections team by setting clear goals, providing coaching and mentoring, and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Develop and implement robust field collection processes that ensure timely recovery of delinquent accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with regional business heads, credit, and risk teams to coordinate account resolution planning and identify opportunities for improvement.

The preferred candidate will possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to provide regular performance updates to senior management. Experience with MFI lending models (JLG/SHG), rural customer behavior, and legal recovery mechanisms is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support Area/Branch Collection Managers and Field Recovery Officers.
  • Ensure robust field collection processes are in place.
  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing regional collections team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, training, and capacity-building initiatives for collection staff.
  • Coordinate with regional business heads, credit and risk teams for account resolution planning.
  • Provide MIS/reports to senior management on NPA trends, recovery performance, and action plans.
  • Ensure all recovery practices adhere to internal policies, regulatory norms, and ethical standards.
  • Identify risk hotspots in the portfolio and escalate timely for preventive actions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8-10 years in microfinance or NBFC collections, with at least 3-4 years in a regional managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of MFI lending models (JLG/SHG), rural customer behavior, and legal recovery mechanisms.
