Senior Portfolio Manager

About the Role

This position is responsible for leading and managing multiple portfolio projects with cross-functional teams by working closely with all aspects of the product development community.

Responsibilities

• Manage numerous projects a year, ensuring timely completion and meeting project objectives.
• Identify and make recommendations for improvement to existing processes and procedures to optimize project efficiency.
• Manage all phases of the project through the Product Development process, defining key performance parameters and creating regular variance reports to track progress.
• Negotiate with Engineering Resource Managers for project resources, ensuring availability and allocation.
• Maintain compliance with corporate and public regulations, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
• Perform data analysis relevant to project tasks, providing insights for informed decision-making.
• Request resource demand and review resource allocation for projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Maintain ownership of and accountability for the project schedule, effectively communicating project status and mitigating risks.
• Effectively communicate project status, including schedule variances and mitigation options, to stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT PMO experience, with a strong background in project governance and management.
• Bachelor's degree in technology, finance, business, or equivalent experience required, demonstrating expertise in software development life cycle.
• Project governance certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) preferred, showcasing knowledge and skills in project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle, with an understanding of agile principles and methodologies.
• Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to partner with other project stakeholders to resolve issues and mitigate project impacts.
• Understanding of corporate/public regulations, with the ability to maintain compliance and adherence to industry standards.
• Data analysis skills, with the ability to provide insights and inform decision-making.
• Strong stakeholder relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Experience using MS Project, MS Office, and MS Visio, with proficiency in project planning and management tools.
• Experience coordinating team workflow in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
• Experience partnering with other project stakeholders to resolve issues and mitigate project impacts, with a focus on collaboration and effective communication.
• A results-oriented outlook, with the ability to prioritize and deliver key initiatives, driving business outcomes and success.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs within the organization, with a willingness to pivot and adjust plans as needed.
