About the Role
This position will be responsible for managing various aspects of maintenance and engineering within the facility. Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Chief Engineer in managing electrical, plumbing installations, and maintenance within the facility;
- Preparing critical spares lists for all installations as per manufacturer's recommendations and planning for inventory where maintenance is carried out in-house;
- Implementing and overseeing pre-emptive maintenance programs to reduce the risk of sudden failures of critical equipment;
- Assisting the Chief Engineer in reviewing maintenance/service practices of M&E Contractors to deliver quality work practices in line with manufacturer recommendations;
- Maintaining logbooks, checklists, and PPM schedules for all M&E installations;
- Managing downtime/breakdowns;
- Ensuring contractors follow house rules at all times and projects are handled with minimum inconvenience to the client;
- Handling shifts independently on all engineering-related matters;
- Reporting daily on M&E to the Chief Engineer;
- Generating service maintenance reports on office equipment;
- Generating inventory and purchasing of spares and consumables;
- Generating downtime and breakdown incident reports.
Key Performance Indicators
The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in preventive maintenance programs at the client site with the highest standards and ensure energy conservation practices. They will also assist the Chief Engineer in managing M&E scope of projects to ensure quality and deliverables within stipulated time.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good communication skills;
- Proficiency in MS Excel;
- DEE/BE tertiary qualifications in either Electrical Engineering essential;
- 4-5 years of experience in facility management;
- Proven ability to function effectively as part of a team;
- Proven ability to initiate and follow through with improvement initiatives;
- Very good people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client staff and demands;
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety requirements.
