Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Database Administrator to manage the daily operations of our Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in database administration and superior technical skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
  • Monitoring OEM alerts and taking prompt action
  • Starting and stopping the application and database
  • Monitoring the application-related products like oacore, oafm, apache etc.
  • Bouncing apache, oacore, oafm if necessary
  • Developing and maintaining backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Taking charge of database design and implementation
  • Maintaining database security (creating and maintaining users and roles, assigning privileges)
  • Working collaboratively with a team and providing 24/7 support
  • Performing general technical troubleshooting and consulting development teams
  • Coordinating with Oracle Corporation for technical assistance
  • Performing database tuning and performance monitoring
  • Conducting application tuning and performance monitoring
  • Cloning DEV and TEST environments from PROD
  • Supporting code migration to functional consultants
  • Handling tickets raised by functional/technical/business users
  • Responding to alerts raised by alert monitoring systems from Database and applications
  • Analyzing patches where necessary
  • Applying patches using adop online patch cycle as per schedule
  • Cloning as per scheduled tasks
  • Managing backups and resolving related issues
  • Optimizing query response time and addressing Performance Issues
  • Collaborating with Oracle Support by raising SRs on various issues
  • Monitoring Standby Databases and resolving respective problems
  • Regularly performing database maintenance activities (tablespace management, datapump, purging logfiles etc.)
