Key Account Sales and Catering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Key Account Sales and Catering Manager to join our team. As a Key Account Sales and Catering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to achieve individual catering sales goals, monitoring status regularly and adjusting strategies as appropriate, achieving catering sales goals by developing and implementing sales strategies, identifying potential key accounts (banquet and group) and developing strategies to prioritize and penetrate those accounts, making outside sales calls to prospective catering customers, clarifying customer requirements and suggesting alternative menus, themes, etc., preparing proposals for clients which outline details of proposed functions; coordinating preparation of estimates with food and beverage and other departments if needed, negotiating sale of catering sales functions, conducting on-site client inspections to illustrate available services, know meeting and sleeping room set-ups and capabilities, monitoring customer satisfaction with catering business; follows-up with key contacts on a regular basis to assess satisfaction, ensuring all materials used are in accordance with brand standards, communicating clients requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner, working with sales team for additional business opportunities as appropriate, assisting in reviewing the function book and conducts evaluation of releasing or finalizing functions, creating 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Yes I Can experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations, giving personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service, listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems, provides Yes I Can genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis, assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction, performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality, keeps immediate Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance, maintains a high standard of personal grooming at all times in order to represent the Hotel in the best possible manner, reflecting the public role of the position, develops and participates in Hotel promotions as required, be familiar with objectives, strategies, action plans and other marketing related information contained within the Hotel annual business plan, performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position, maintains a favourable working relationship with all other hotel employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment, at all times projects a favourable image of the Hotel to the public.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of one- three years hotel catering or convention experience
  • Local market knowledge preferred
  • High school diploma required, bachelor s degree preferred
  • Experience managing to brand standards
  • Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
  • General knowledge of contract laws
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
