Job Overview:

The Fabric Mill Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the finishing operations of a fabric mill. This position involves ensuring high-quality output, operational efficiency, and adherence to delivery schedules.

This senior leadership role requires a strong technical background in fabric finishing, with expertise in process optimization, team management, and quality control. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to drive process improvements, cost optimization, and compliance with quality and sustainability standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management
    • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the finishing department, including bleaching, dyeing, printing, washing, and other finishing processes.
    • Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
    • Monitor machine utilization, efficiency, and workflow to optimize capacity.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Oversee quality control processes to ensure fabrics meet required customer specifications and international standards.
    • Drive initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and waste.
    • Implement best practices for process consistency and product reliability.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation
    • Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Introduce new finishing techniques and technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
    • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams on process development and new product trials.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Maintain standards in line with customer audits, certifications, and sustainability requirements (e.g., ZDHC, OEKO-TEX, GOTS).
    • Enforce strict adherence to EHS guidelines within the finishing operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Production Management or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in fabric finishing, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role in a reputable fabric/textile mill.
