Operations Director

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Director to lead our strategic cargo planning and execution.

  • Oversee end-to-end planning of ODC shipments, ensuring seamless coordination between teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop cargo movement strategies in alignment with customer requirements and vessel schedules.

Cargo Planning & Execution:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic planning and execution of ODC shipments.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely booking allocation.
  • Monitoring carrier bookings and updates on rates and vessel information.

Rate Management & Customer Negotiations:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading rate quotation and negotiation process, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.
  • Approving and standardizing rate offerings based on market trends and operational feasibility.

Vessel & Booking Coordination:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring timely booking allocation in the EBMS system and with carriers.
  • Collaborating with the planning team to secure space, including feeder service requirements when necessary.
  • Monitoring carrier bookings and updates on rates and vessel information.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising container allocation coordination with inventory and MNR teams.
  • Optimizing container inventory planning to meet customer demands and minimize turnaround time.

Customer & Stakeholder Communication:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring customers receive updated vessel schedules based on cargo readiness.
  • Driving efficient communication regarding container pickup status, required documentation, and compliance.
  • Coordinating ODC permissions with operations and carriers.

Operational Oversight & Compliance:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring booking forecasts align with planned vessel schedules.
  • Validating and approving dimension changes, liaising with pricing teams for revised rate approvals.
  • Supervising linking of SOC/COC containers with carriers.

Performance Monitoring & Process Optimization:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving operational excellence by monitoring key performance metrics across planning, execution, and customer service functions.
  • Implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Post-Shipment Coordination:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring timely ON-BOARD confirmation is shared with customers.
  • Directing the planning and operations team to complete RCVS and LODF entries post-shipment confirmation.
