Job Overview

The NAVISYS Engineer is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of Navigation Integrated Systems across various vessels. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain adherence to IMS and international regulations;
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental, and ethics policies;
  • Develop and implement a continuous performance improvement plan for regular review;
  • Coordinate surveys, health checks, and maintenance of navigation integrated systems, providing support to vessels and shore teams, including risk assessment for new situations or planned interventions;
  • Manage repairs efficiently by sourcing best solutions with key partners;
  • Assist vessel compliance with flag and class requirements related to navigation integrated systems;
  • Review and challenge repair proposals from partners or vendors to ensure operational availability;
  • Contribute actively to the issuance of experience feedback, lessons learned from vessel's navigation integrated systems to improve reliability;
  • Keep up-to-date databases of radio and navigation systems onboard, collaborating with expert teams on optimal lifecycle management of navigation integrated systems;
  • Evaluate and assess regularly partners and key vendors with segment purchasers;
  • Prepare annual budgets for assigned vessels in consultation with Expert/Superintendents/Vessel managers;
  • Attend vessels in ports when required (to be updated on equipment services).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics and telecommunications;
  • 3 years' experience in support of vessels is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Good knowledge of integrated radio and navigation systems, OT networking, cybersecurity controls;
  • Troubleshooting, initiative, flair to solve issues and curiosity for new technologies;
  • Project management skills, competencies in various software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Power Query;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
