Procurement Specialist

This role is focused on acquiring technical spare parts and repair services for vessels. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for liaising with Superintendents to ensure prompt supply of required materials, as well as handling purchasing activities and logistics arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Superintendents for the timely delivery of technical spare parts or Ship repair jobs or annual services.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities, arrange logistics to transport spares to vessels, and initiate enquiries/requisitions to suppliers worldwide.
  • Monitor quotations from suppliers, prepare purchase orders, delivery orders, proforma invoices, and packing lists.
  • Collaborate in logistics arrangements (air freight/sea freight/land transport/sea transport).
  • Liaise with agents and ships for the supply of spare parts and repair services to vessels at convenient ports.
  • Process invoices, verify vendor invoices against quotations, and ensure timely processing within the credit term period.
  • Document filing/printing of invoices and handle other duties assigned by Manager/Superintendents.
  • Team collaboration and coordination.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Prior experience in spares stores services and all technical purchasing is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential.

This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a solid understanding of purchasing procedures and logistics arrangements. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including Superintendents, vendors, and shipping agents, to procure technical spare parts and repair services for vessels.
