Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Marine Operations Manager to oversee the technical and operational performance of 3-4 merchant vessels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations, routine and preventive maintenance, and compliance with international marine requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Management and Operations: Oversee the technical aspects of vessel management, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Performance Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve vessel performance and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop shipboard teams, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including ship owners, operators, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Marine Engineering or a related field; a degree in business is an added advantage.
  • Experience as a Chief Engineer on Merchant Vessels or in a similar role.
  • At least three years of experience as a Technical Superintendent.
  • Demonstrated high-quality technical and managerial skills, with a proven track record of delivering excellent results.
  • Possess strong people-oriented skills, with a passion for developing shipboard teams.
  • Able to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Well-updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation.
