Job Opportunity:

The primary responsibilities of the Performance Tuning Specialist include supporting database operations, including performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate will be responsible for operating in Oracle and Exadata database re-platforming efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support ongoing efforts and provide technical support for multiple database re-platforming efforts to Exadata.
  2. Reviewing and implementing data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  3. Optimization and tuning of SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
  4. Working knowledge of Oracle 12c/Oracle 19c/Exadata added capabilities and functionality.
  5. Strong programming/development skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) a plus.
  6. Proficient in performance tuning (PL/SQL) using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
  7. Strong knowledge of database triggers, indexes, and partitioning.
  8. Expertise in Oracle architecture.
  9. Proficient in reading Query Execution Plans with the ability to evaluate and improve performance characteristics of SQL.
  10. Manage database objects like table space, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms.
  11. Monitoring of the database performance as it relates to memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations.
  12. Coordinate with data architects and analysts on the building of schemas, tables, functions, views, stored procedures, and roles.
  13. Coordination with the automation team for the scheduling of various AWA/RMJ jobs to be executed on multiple databases.
  14. Provide DBA supervision and Oracle best practices guidance for custom application development and routine database administration efforts.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including experience in Oracle Exadata.
  2. Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing, including Golden Gate and Informatica ETL.
  3. Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and agile methodology.
  4. Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
  5. Good Communication skills.
  6. Self-Motivated.
  7. Works well in a team environment.
