Database Developer Position

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, implementation, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and storage solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Manage and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL platforms (Cassandra, ScyllaDB, MongoDB, BigQuery).
  • Build scalable, distributed, and highly available database systems for real-time and batch workloads.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate database deployments, migrations, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product engineers to ensure efficient access to data.
  • Optimize query performance, schema design, and indexing strategies.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, backup, recovery, and security across platforms.
  • Deploy and manage cloud-native data services on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues and resolve system bottlenecks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL database design and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases: ScyllaDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, BigQuery.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, replication, sharding, and partitioning.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud providers: AWS (RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift), GCP (BigQuery, Cloud SQL), Azure (Cosmos DB, SQL Database).
  • Strong knowledge of query optimization, schema modeling, and indexing.
  • Good scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar for automation.
