Database Migration Leader

Job Description

We seek an experienced Database Migration Expert to lead our database migration program. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Oracle Exadata and Exadata Cloud@Customer environments, including backup/recovery, replication, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive migration strategy, ensuring zero/near-zero downtime and seamless delivery across all phases of the program.
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across data centers, cloud platforms, and Exadata/ExaCC environments.
  • Perform end-to-end database backup and recovery using Rubrik and RMAN.
  • Implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  • Monitor database performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager and ensure proactive alerting and health checks.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth migration with minimal business disruption.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer implementation and management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native database solutions in AWS and Azure, including RDS, EC2, S3, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, and Recovery Vaults.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
