Job Description

The Chief Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end business operations, including the issuance and fulfillment of new business. This involves managing work-in-progress (WIP) and implementing central initiatives to streamline the issuance process through regular engagement with distribution and policy teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management:
    • Strengthening relationships with distributors through regular communication and monitoring performance.
    • Identifying opportunities for improvement and driving initiatives to enhance business quality measures.
  • Managing New Business:
    • Ensuring daily progress on WIP to meet monthly targets and driving WIP clearance through hub teams.
    • Implementing governance calls with HUBs teams and maintaining end-to-end WIP management.
  • Data and Reporting:
    • Delivering reports and analysis on business parameters to inform improvement plans.
    • Enabling distributors with data sets, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Control and Monitoring Process:
    • Maintaining and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and 4 sheeter's.
    • Documenting and controlling changes in existing processes.
  • Projects and Continuous Improvement:
    • Conducting benchmarking internally and externally to establish best-in-class delivery standards.
  • People Management:
    • Developing team members to perform effectively and efficiently.

Measures of Success:

  • Monthly governance engagements with Distribution leaders/Head.
  • Publishing monthly issuance dashboards/scorecards.
  • Driving operational efficiencies with Distribution teams.
  • High issuance rates (92% M0, 94% M2).
  • Resolving escalations and requests within TAT.
  • Completing green/black belt projects.
  • Talent retention (low attrition rate).

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Management.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience.
  • 5 years in relationship management and Bancassurance/Banking Operations management.
  • Sound knowledge of Bancassurance or Banking Operations Model & specifically operations processes.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong data skills and solution-centric approach.
  • Customer-centric approach.
  • Process documentation and systems approach.
