Telecom Legal Specialist Role and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Unit (PMU) to review and analyze Right of Way (RoW) policies across various states, union territories, and central government organizations.
  • Review and interpret key legislations including the Indian Telegraph Act 1885, the Indian Telegraph RoW Rules 2016, and amendments in 2022 and 2023, as well as the Telecommunication Act 2023.
  • Support policy alignment and coordination with state governments for:
  • Avoidance of Building Bye-laws
  • Implementation of Green Energy Open Access and Single Billing systems
  • Develop legal strategies to resolve disputes with municipalities and state government departments during project execution.
  • Provide legal input and recommendations for telecom infrastructure policies.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and management reports for submission to higher government officials.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, legal teams, and external stakeholders for legal clarifications and compliance.
  • Independently handle litigation matters related to telecom and e-governance initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, memos, and formal correspondence as required.
