
Senior Culinary Team Leader

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to lead our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining efficiency and productivity in the kitchen, analyzing quality and cost of food production, and implementing improvements as needed.
- Providing ongoing training and coaching to ensure that staff meet set standards.
- Ensuring safe and quality food products, complete guest satisfaction, and compliance with public health regulations.
- Developing and adhering to systems, procedures, rules, objectives, and timescales, taking a disciplined approach when undertaking tasks.
- Working within a technical/specialized area of expertise to improve the quality of service and product provided.
- Avoiding mistakes and discrepancies, correcting issues immediately.
- Mentoring and supporting subordinates to boost morale and personal esteem.
- Maintaining crew morale within the administration department, treating all staff fairly and promoting a positive atmosphere.
- Monitoring and assisting section heads in preparing daily electronic food requisitions according to forecasted figures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Advanced culinary skills, leadership, and experience.
- Minimum 8 years in the profession (Quality Hotels and Restaurants).
- 2 years of experience in a management role in a well-recognized luxury hospitality establishment or upscale cruise line.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Effective communication with senior management.
- Ability to lead and make decisions.
- Good administrative skills.
- Experience in coaching subordinates.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Cruise Ship Experience / 5-star Hotel.
- Fluency in additional language(s).
