About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Support Engineer to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED. As a Sales Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our sales team in preparing and executing technical and commercial offers to customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support the preparation of technical and commercial offers based on customer specifications, local business unit indications, and sales organization directives.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings and define costs for proposed solutions, communicating with the sales organization.
  • Ensure completion of project risk review documentation and coordinate with internal functions to analyze legal, contractual clauses, risks, and costs associated with projects.
  • Analyze and evaluate specific technical issues and associated risks.
  • Analyze customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and sales organization input.
  • Perform lost proposal analysis, identify potential causes, and recommend future actions in cooperation with sales/local business units to improve future results.
  • Define the most suitable technology and product type(s) for applications, considering bid commercial needs and quality metrics.
  • Negotiate consortium/subcontract agreements and relevant work allocation with bid partners, as applicable.
  • Collect relevant documentation for proposals and record decisions and hypothesis rationale adopted during development.
  • Manage the first technical inspection to retrieve information needed to prepare proposals.
  • Obtain cost information from internal contacts and provide technical support to sales managers during customer meetings.
  • Participate in negotiations with customers on technical, contractual, and commercial content of proposals.
  • Coordinate with internal functions to analyze legal, contractual clauses, risks, and costs tied to projects.

Your Background

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering (electrical) or recognized equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a minimum of 2 years as a Tendering Engineer.
  • Knowledge of AIS substation equipment, including Instrument Transformers, Live Tank Breakers, Disconnectors, and Earthing Switches.
  • Prior experience in utilities tendering processes and the electrical engineering industry, with estimating and tendering experience using MS Excel-based systems.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using SFDC, MS Word, MS Excel, and good communication skills.
  • Time management, coordination, accuracy, attention to detail, and performing in a pressure environment are essential.
  • Experience in handling international markets is desirable.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
