Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Automation Lead to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated test scripts using Playwright. You will also lead, mentor, and grow other QA Engineers, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Testing: Design and develop automated test scripts using Playwright to ensure that our web applications meet the required quality standards.
  • Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of QA Engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Manual Testing: Perform manual and exploratory testing to identify bugs and issues in our web applications.
  • Test Case Development: Create and execute detailed test cases and scenarios to ensure that our products meet the required quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to ensure that quality is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Gap Identification: Identify product or development gaps and escalate them to the respective teams.
  • UI and API Testing: Conduct both UI and API testing to ensure that our web applications meet the required quality standards.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance: Participate in CI/CD pipeline maintenance and improvement to ensure smooth deployment of our products.
  • Test Documentation: Create and maintain test documentation to ensure that our products meet the required quality standards.
  • Bug Tracking: Report and track bugs using JIRA to ensure that issues are resolved promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Testing Frameworks: Experience with modern testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Programming Languages: Strong programming skills in languages such as JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • API Testing: Experience with REST API testing.
  • Version Control: Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • CI/CD: Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Test Reporting: Knowledge of test reporting tools such as Allure.
  • Database: Basic understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience managing and mentoring a team of QA engineers.
  • Start-up Experience: Experience working at a start-up.
  • Quality Focus: High standards for quality and ownership.
  • Strong Manual Testing Skills: Strong manual testing skills and QA fundamentals.
  • Test Case Creation: Experience creating and executing test cases.
  • Knowledge of Quality Best Practices: Knowledge of quality assurance best practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Additional Skills That Would Be Beneficial:

  • Automating AI Heavy Applications: Experience automating AI heavy applications would be preferred.
  • Security and Load Testing: Knowledge of security and load testing.
  • Email Testing Automation: Experience with email testing automation.
  • Data Generation Tools: Experience with data generation tools like Faker.
  • Docker Containers: Knowledge of Docker containers.
