Role Overview

A highly experienced Software Development Manager is required to lead teams of software engineers at Autodesk Pune, India.

You will be responsible for translating customer needs into technical solutions, working independently and collaboratively with peers to ensure that solutions are built with a long-term vision and align with enterprise platform requirements.

As a leader, you will provide guidance, mentoring, and leadership to the team, driving Agile software development in a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple Agile Scrum teams in developing high-quality software systems
  • Remain accountable for business outcomes and engineering excellence of teams
  • Hire and on-board talent, and align them with organisational goals
  • Work with team members on goal-setting, meeting regularly for performance discussions and feedback to up-skill and develop their careers to meet organisational needs and individual career goals
  • Plan and review project schedule of teams and reporting progress on a regular basis higher up
  • Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organisation's goals. Align strategy, processes, across teams
  • Plan, review, and provide feedback on features, technology, architecture, designs, time & budget estimates, and test strategies
  • Manage projects risks, driving strategic and ensuring successful deliveries
  • Develop and evolve engineering processes, best practices to improve team efficiency, ensuring solutions are maintainable, modular, and of high code quality
  • Facilitate team collaboration sessions, providing technical expertise and removing technical roadblocks
  • Inspire, motivate, and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity, creativity, and efficiency
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resources, and quality constraints
  • Create an environment that empowers and energises team members, with focus on accountability and collaboration
  • Contribute to and foster Autodesk culture values in the teams

Requirements

  • Masters/Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years as a software developer working on enterprise software
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic front end projects
  • 5+ years of experience in managing software development teams, or other similar leadership roles (managing team members from Software Engineers to Principal Engineers to Architects)
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies, OOPS and software design patterns and have experience leading significant software projects/products
  • Strong technical skills with experience in architecting, designing & developing front end cloud applications with testing and automations strategy
  • Ability to grow engineering talent through effective mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and retention strategies in a growth-focused environment, to work collaboratively as a cohesive and productive unit
  • Ability to drive technical projects and provide leadership. Taking responsibility for the planning, execution, and success of technical projects
  • Must have fundamentals in technology with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, web technology stack, and exposure to backend development
  • Experience and well-versed in leading in an Agile development environment. Certification in Agile Methodologies or related training

Salary Range: ₹ 25,00,000 - ₹ 35,00,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
