
Retention Specialist

As a Retention Specialist, you will be responsible for driving user retention and reactivation efforts across our music streaming platform. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your analytical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities to design and execute data-driven campaigns that deliver tangible results.
Your primary focus will be on identifying at-risk users and developing targeted interventions to prevent churn and re-engage lapsed listeners. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analytics, product, and content, to ensure seamless alignment and optimal campaign execution.
Some key responsibilities include:
- At-Risk User Intervention (Churn Prevention):
- Collaborate with the data team to analyze predictive models and identify high-risk user cohorts.
- Conduct surveys and interviews with at-risk users to uncover root causes of dissatisfaction and develop actionable hypotheses.
- Design and launch multi-channel campaigns triggered by at-risk behavior, leveraging push notifications, in-app modals, and email channels.
- Lapsed User Reactivation (Win-Back Strategy):
- Develop and manage end-to-end strategies for bringing back churned subscribers, segmenting users based on past listening behavior and time since churn.
- Craft compelling offers and hyper-personalized content to re-engage lapsed listeners.
- Test and learn rigorously, A/B testing offers, messaging, and channels to build a playbook of cost-effective methods for reactivating different user cohorts.
- Analytics and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Own and report on core KPIs for user retention, including Churn Rate, Save Rate, Reactivation Rate, and ROI of campaigns.
- Provide clear data and qualitative insights to stakeholders, prioritizing roadmap features that address core churn drivers.
- Partner with the core retention team to ensure seamless user experience and aligned messaging.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of focused experience in churn management, user reactivation, or save strategies within a B2C subscription or mobile app business.
- Proven track record of driving user retention and revenue growth through data-driven marketing campaigns.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in SQL and experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics).
- Innovative problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to campaign design and execution.
- Experimenter's mindset, with ability to design and interpret A/B tests to drive clear, actionable results.
- Passion for music and audio, with understanding of what drives user engagement and loyalty.
