Job Title: Marine Construction Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Construction Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating project works with contractors, ensuring activities are sequenced according to the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor Site Health, Safety, and Environmental Performance: Ensure contractors are protecting workers at the job site by enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Construction Supervision & Contract Administration: Supervise contractors and their subcontractors for assigned portions of the project, ensuring seamless execution and timely completion.
  • Coordinate Design Deliverables: Assist in ensuring efficient construction by coordinating design deliverables, facilitating effective collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the point of contact for contractors in the assigned project area, providing clear communication and resolving issues promptly.
  • Plan and Chair Safety Meetings: Plan and chair project safety meetings, assist with incident investigations, and participate in our safety programs and initiatives.
  • Identify, Manage, and Resolve Deficiencies: Communicate issues and non-conformance to the Construction Manager for resolution, ensuring swift action is taken to mitigate risks.
  • Assist with Construction Estimating & Scheduling: Support construction estimating, reporting, cost control, measurement verification, and invoice certification for contractor work in the assigned area.
  • Lead Bill Certification Process: Oversee the Bill Certification process, measurement of quantities, and resolve scope issues for the assigned construction area.
  • Act as Spokesperson in Absence of the Construction Manager: Step in as the administrative spokesperson when the Construction Manager is absent, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Assist with Proposal and Business Improvement Activities: Help develop and review construction-related information for proposals and other business activities, driving growth and innovation.
  • Provide Construction Input for Constructability Plans: Contribute to the development of project constructability plans, enhancing our ability to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Track Progress and Costs: Provide input for daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports; track contractor rates for major activities, and work on catch-up plans suited to site conditions.
  • Assist in Site Issue Resolution: Help address site issues and implement corrective measures in coordination with the Construction Manager.
  • Coordinate Construction and Commissioning: Assist in coordinating between construction and commissioning, ensuring effective handover policies.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality Plans Are Implemented: Enforce project safety and quality plans to ensure strict compliance, safeguarding the well-being of our team members and clients.
  • Provide Inputs for Planning and Billing: Contribute to planning and billing activities for the project, ensuring accuracy and transparency throughout the process.
