Job Title: Marine Construction

A construction engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring project works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate project activities with contractors, maintaining performance goals while fostering a culture of safety and compliance. They will be responsible for coordinating work efforts, sequencing activities according to the project schedule, and ensuring that all elements of the project are accurately evaluated.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5–10 years of onsite experience on major projects across various sectors.
  • Involvement in at least two significant projects similar in size and scope.
Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate or graduate degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Postgraduate degree/diploma in construction management (preferable).
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Safety Management: Monitor site health, safety, and environmental performance, ensuring contractors protect workers.
  2. Construction Supervision & Contract Administration: Supervise contractors and their subcontractors for assigned project areas.
  3. Design Coordination: Assist in efficient construction by coordinating design deliverables.
  4. Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the point of contact for contractors in the assigned project area.
  5. Safety Meetings: Plan and chair project safety meetings, assist with incident investigations, and participate in company safety programs.
  6. Deficiency Management: Identify, manage, and resolve deficiencies, communicating issues to the construction manager.
  7. Estimating & Scheduling: Support construction estimating, reporting, cost control, measurement verification, and invoice certification.
  8. Bill Certification Process: Oversee the bill certification process, measurement of quantities, and resolve scope issues.
  9. Spokesperson: Act as the administrative spokesperson when the construction manager is absent.
  10. Proposal & Business Improvement: Assist in developing and reviewing construction-related information for proposals and business activities.
  11. Constructability Plans: Provide construction input for constructability plans.
  12. Progress Tracking: Provide input for daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, tracking contractor rates and implementing catch-up plans.
  13. Site Issue Resolution: Assist in addressing site issues and implementing corrective measures in coordination with the construction manager.
  14. Commissioning: Coordinate between construction and commissioning, ensuring effective handover policies.
  15. Safety & Quality Plans: Enforce project safety and quality plans to ensure strict compliance.
  16. Planning & Billing: Contribute to planning and billing activities for the project.
