Job Overview

This is a critical role in category management responsible for vendor sourcing and procurement, including identifying new vendors, onboarding them, scheduling, buying/ordering, ensuring timely payments, and managing relationships with existing vendors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assigned categories and related product selection. Key responsibilities include analyzing consumption patterns across various geographies, ensuring profitable growth, conducting market visits, and negotiating the best rates.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation, planning, delegation, coordination, follow-up, and team-handling skills. He/she must be able to maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrate proficiency in Excel, and have a strong understanding of category management principles.

In addition, the candidate should be able to prepare and present reports, travel as required, and effectively manage a team of officers/promoters. This role requires a Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 years of experience in FMCG or General Merchandising Product-based industries.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving business growth through effective category management strategies, including market analysis, trend identification, and supplier engagement.

The selected candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing category plans, setting sales targets, and monitoring performance metrics to ensure optimal results.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills to excel in this role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and logistics, to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

You will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes that may impact category management strategies.
