Job Overview:

The Bakery Category Manager role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive category strategies that align with business goals, focusing on growth, profitability, and market share expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales data to understand current offerings to key customers
  • Understand the bakery category performance and metrics
  • Identify gaps and untapped opportunities with strategic accounts, exploring ways to enter their system with existing offerings
  • Assess the current market position and formulate a strategic growth plan for the bakery category, considering market dynamics, customer landscape, and competition

Pipeline Development:

  • Drive customer-led initiatives to improve the pipeline and aid business growth
  • Regularly review progress with sales and R&D teams to ensure seamless execution of pipeline projects

Project Management:

  • Coordinate end-to-end with internal stakeholders for customer innovation days/meetings
  • Develop sales pitches and train sales teams for key account engagements
  • Understand future customer requirements and present them to internal stakeholders based on market relevance

Driving Innovation:

  • Identify gaps and untapped opportunities in the product portfolio, aligning with consumer preferences, market requirements, and trends
  • Support R&D in developing future product portfolios that meet market demands
  • Collaborate with R&D to identify innovative products in the bakery category and build a pitch portfolio for presentation to other larger customer bases
