The role of a Merchandiser is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of product development, sourcing, and logistics.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the entire production process, from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and timely production as per design.

Your primary objectives will include:

  • Managing product development from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and timely production as per design
  • Ensuring raw materials, job workers, and internal and external production teams are aligned for timely delivery of production
  • Identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with partners and vendors for fabric & trims, labels & tags suppliers, job workers, fabricators, and garment manufacturers

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development:
  • Develop, evaluate, and present pre-development samples
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability
  • Make necessary adjustments to costing
Costing and Production Planning:
  • Develop and manage production timelines and schedules to ensure timely delivery of retail products
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve best costing
  • Find alternative solutions and suppliers to achieve best costing without compromising on quality and timelines
Sourcing, Dispatch, and Payments:
  • Make bill of material for bulk orders & production runs
  • Source raw materials, trims, and accessories
  • Visit job workers and factories to track production on a regular basis
  • Manage all kinds of dispatches, coordination with courier partners, invoices, and payments
Supplier and Vendor Management:
  • Identify and work with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and production services
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or compliance
Quality Control:
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that products meet the company's standards and specifications
  • Conduct inspections and oversee testing of materials and finished products to identify and resolve quality issues
Reporting and Coordination:
  • Coordinate and collaborate with various teams (Design, production, procurement, category etc.)
  • Maintain daily detailed logs and updates for fabric, trims, and accessories development and procurement
  • Keep track of raw material consumption as per BOM
  • Update everything in ERP software
  • Maintain production files up to date containing fabric and trims swatches, specification sheet, comments, wash standards, embroidery / print / dyeing swatches
  • Keep master sheets for website updated from techpaks

Qualifications:
We are looking for an individual with:4 - 5 years of PD, buying, merchandising, and production experience in buying house, retail brands, export house etc.
A strong understanding of fabrics, trims, and accessories, as well as the factory supplier base
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Strong organizational skills
