Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA

Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Implement HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Mandatory Skills:

  1. Must have experience working with Azure and MS-SQL databases.
  2. Lead Admin experience, working as a single point of contact for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities.
  3. Hands-on experience with designing and architecture of public clouds, specifically Oracle OCI or Azure.
  4. Experience with managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network, and Security.
  5. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
