This role involves the creation and implementation of a sourcing strategy for MG in India.

The key responsibilities include developing and deploying regional commodity strategies along with category leaders to deliver year-over-year cost reductions.

  • Identify suppliers that meet the requirements of quality, cost, delivery, and inventory control (including Kanban, VMI, consignment inventory programs).
  • Monitor and track commodity trends.
  • Analyze spend of assigned commodities and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements for total cost of ownership for each product.

This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal), and relationship-building skills with suppliers and customers.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering and 10-12 years of experience in sourcing, supplier development & procurement in an engineering company preferably in Auto Component.

The following skills are required:

  • Good understanding of automotive commodities such as proprietary parts, hydraulics, wiring harness, stampings, sheet metal parts, outside processes, metals, connectors, plastic and rubber parts, general machined parts, PCBA, and quality systems.
  • Familiarity with incoterms, TCO, vendor development/quality check methodology, and cross-functional team working skills due to matrix organization reporting.
