Business Development Leader
About the RoleThis position entails driving business development strategies for pre-owned car loans in a specific region, focusing on customer outreach and maximizing business potential. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the market and be able to drive profitability while maintaining portfolio quality.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure that business targets, disbursement growth, and budget fulfillment are met as per guidelines given by the regional head.
- Promote profitability and ensure the maintenance of portfolio quality.
- Maintain costs and explore opportunities for reduction.
- Determine methods for achieving plans through channels and direct marketing.
- Execute the business cycle with the team.
- Regularly review target achievements versus actual results within the division under control.
- Ensure the achievement of targeted internal rates of return (IRR).
Leadership and Team Management
- Provide executive-level solutions to team members on various issues.
- Orient manpower according to business requirements at the divisional level.
- Ensure daily work management leads to process standardization.
- Lead different teams and departments to achieve initial goals.
- Implement initiatives taken by higher authorities at executive and ABM levels.
- Conduct regular appraisals and provide feedback to team members.
- Identify skill gaps and provide training, mentoring, and guidance to team members.
- Enhance employee engagement within the department.
Relationship Building and Dealer Management
- Develop dealerships, brokers, DSAs, and organized channels to achieve business budgets.
- Create an engagement platform for dealers, DSAs, and brokers at state, division, and branch levels.
- Improve market share in non-active or low-market-share dealers and channels for pre-owned car loans business.
- Measure dealer performance in terms of volume, quality, and market share.
- Foster strong relationships with dealers and their sales teams.
Portfolio and Risk Management
- Maintain portfolios according to guidelines.
- Control non-performing assets (NPAs) and non-starters.
- Review and maintain overdraft contracts at the ABM level.
- Support team members in handling highly volatile customers.
Market Analysis and Competitor Intelligence
- Analyze competitors.
- Assess market share and business growth.
- Study competitor business strategies and best practices regularly and develop a monthly business plan accordingly.
