We are seeking an accomplished professional to lead our credit strategy as Chief Credit Strategist.

Job Description:

The role of Chief Credit Strategist is a senior leadership position that requires a seasoned expert to develop and implement effective credit strategies and policies to ensure optimal risk management and portfolio performance. This strategic role demands strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive credit policies and processes to ensure optimal risk management and portfolio performance.
  • Leverage industry experience and knowledge to make informed credit decisions and drive business growth.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of credit policy and processes in lending/lease products.
  • Risk management: Apply advanced risk assessment techniques to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Portfolio management: Oversee portfolios comprising SME and corporate clients, managing exposure to multiple asset classes.
  • Technology and innovation: Stay up-to-date with new age underwriting and assessment tools, leveraging technology to enhance credit decision-making.
  • Communication and collaboration: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive business growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 18-20 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in banking or NBFCs.
  • Strong experience in handling credit functions, with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of credit policy and processes in lending/lease products.
  • Risk Professional with 15+ years of experience, having managed geographically spread teams.
  • Exposure to leasing, ECL/loss models, and new-age underwriting/assessment tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Sound understanding of technological advancements and digital tools used in credit underwriting and risk management.
  • Past experience of handling large and senior teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of lending norms.
