Job Overview:

Supervising kitchen operations requires effective coordination of tasks and personnel to ensure timely preparation and presentation of food products. The ideal candidate will have experience in upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship environments, with a strong background in managing multicultural teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the activities of assigned workstation personnel
  • Assigning duties and responsibilities to team members
  • Organizing work schedules and controlling overtime
  • Ensuring adherence to corporate recipe standards and food safety guidelines
  • Providing on-the-job training to entry-level cooks and chefs
  • Conducting daily inventory and requisitioning supplies as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship environment
  • Previous experience as Chef De Partie/Demi Chef De Partie is an asset
  • Culinary school degree required
  • Strong management skills, including communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing personalized services, including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills
  • Intermediate computer software skills required
  • Possess a good understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
