About the Role
The successful candidate will serve as a visionary leader, responsible for driving the academic, administrative, and strategic goals of our institution. This role involves ensuring the quality of legal education, fostering research excellence, building industry connections, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the School's strategic vision, aligned with the university's overall mission.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the School's national and international reputation in legal education and research.
- Promote an inclusive, dynamic, and forward-thinking academic environment.
Academic Excellence
The ideal candidate will oversee the design, development, and periodic review of curricula to ensure relevance and rigor in legal education. They will foster an innovative learning environment leveraging technology and pedagogy, and promote a culture of academic excellence through faculty development and student engagement.
Research and Development
We are seeking a candidate who can encourage and support faculty in undertaking impactful legal research, build partnerships with industry, government, and international institutions for research collaboration, and secure grants and funding to sustain and expand research activities.
Administration and Operations
The successful candidate will supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient management of resources and adherence to academic policies. They will lead the recruitment, mentoring, and evaluation of faculty and administrative staff, and prepare and manage the School's annual budget in alignment with institutional priorities.
Industry and Community Engagement
We are looking for a candidate who can establish strong ties with legal professionals, law firms, and judiciary to enhance industry relevance. They will foster internships, placements, and career development opportunities for students, and organize seminars, workshops, and moot court competitions to build the School's profile.
Student Success and Welfare
The ideal candidate will promote student-centric policies and foster an engaging academic and extracurricular environment. They will ensure support systems are in place for academic advising, mentoring, and career counselling.
Governance and Compliance
Our institution requires compliance with regulatory requirements, including Bar Council of India (BCI) standards. The successful candidate will represent the School in university committees, external forums, and accreditation processes.

- Deep understanding of the legal education landscape and regulatory frameworks.
Desirable Qualifications
- Ph.D Degree in Law from reputed and recognized University in India or Abroad.
- A minimum of 15 years of academic or professional experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles such as Director.
- Proven track record in teaching, research, and administrative leadership.
