
FMCG Category Lead

The role holder will oversee the management of a team responsible for managing the entire FMCG category across 20-30 stores. This includes leading a team of 8-10 members in buying and selling National & Regional FMCG brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a high-performing team to drive sales growth, improve supply chain efficiency, and optimize vendor partnerships.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance product availability, pricing, and promotions across all channels.
- Collaborate with various teams, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, Purchase, and Central Purchase to maximize off-takes and ensure seamless business operations.
- Lead negotiations with key vendors to secure competitive prices, improve demand planning, and enhance category development initiatives.
- Coordinate with regional offices to ensure smooth business operations and meet sales targets.
Requirements:
- Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA degree with at least 10 years of experience in FMCG sales.
- Proven track record of managing similar roles, preferably in General Trade.
- Strong knowledge of local languages and market conditions is essential.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to travel extensively within the region and PAN India is necessary.
