Job Role: Assistant Manager - Legal

This role is pivotal in safeguarding the company's interests while supporting business operations and growth. It involves handling litigation, contract management, statutory compliance, land-related matters, and liaison with external stakeholders and authorities.

  • Key responsibilities include obtaining and renewing statutory licenses, approvals, and permissions for factories and new projects.
  • Collaboration with authorities for subsidies/incentives from Central and State Governments is also a part of this role.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, agreements, notices, and replies are essential tasks.
  • Litigation matters including civil, criminal, arbitration, and recovery cases require meticulous handling.
  • Engagement with external counsels, courts, and government departments is necessary for case resolution and providing day-to-day support to the business.
  • Statutory and regulatory compliance across factories, including factory audits and inspections, demands attention to detail.
  • Maintaining accurate records and repositories of contracts, licenses, and legal documents with timely renewal alerts is crucial.
  • Supporting land-related matters including acquisition, leasing, monetization, and updating land records requires strategic thinking.
  • Assistance in brand protection is also expected from the incumbent.
  • Coordination with business and finance teams to track recoveries and manage legal claims is vital.
  • Travel to factories, project sites, and markets may be required for legal and compliance-related work.
  • Handling local legal issues impacting factories, projects, or operations demands adaptability.

Requirements:

  • LLB / LLM (LLM preferred)

Experience:

  • 4–9 years of experience in a legal role, mandatorily in the manufacturing or industrial sector, is required.
