Job Overview:

The Chef de Partie position is an entry-level role in the culinary team, responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of a workstation engaged in preparing and cooking food products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of a workstation engaged in preparing and cooking food products.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to employees.
  • Organize work schedules and control over time of assigned sections.
  • Ensure food items are prepared and presented according to corporate recipe standards.
  • Train and monitor entry-level cooks and chefs.
  • Conduct inventory of workstation storage and prepare daily requisitions.
  • Apply HACCP and onboard sanitation, hygiene standards.
  • Operate and maintain equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • Work with galley personnel in a cooperative and productive manner.
  • Adjust thermostat controls and add seasoning to foods.
  • Control, store, and dispose of overproduction food items.
  • Participate in cleaning workstations during and after meal preparation.
Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service.
  • Prior experience as Chef De Partie/Demi Chef De Partie is an advantage.
  • Culinary school degree is required.
  • Strong management, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
