Culinary Team Leader Role:

As a highly skilled Culinary Team Leader, you will be responsible for directing and supporting team members to ensure the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs and supports team members, evaluates performance, and maintains quality standards.
  • Ensures accurate recipe preparation, maintenance of culinary knowledge, and efficient task completion.
  • Covers various kitchen sections, coordinates team members, and assigns tasks.
  • Maintains public health standards, HACCP program, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for cost containment, expense reductions, and operational problem-solving.
  • Monitors workstation functions, evaluates staff performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.

Financial Management:

  • Manages records, reports, supplies, and equipment to optimize costs.
  • Analyzes operational problems, establishes controls, and reviews timesheets.
  • Prepares reports, identifies expense reductions, and conducts workstation spot checks.

Leadership and Motivation:

  • Monitors assigned workstation functions, evaluates staff performance, and observes work procedures.
  • Makes recommendations regarding personnel actions, ensures adequate staffing, and inspects workstations.

Qualifications and Education:

  • A minimum of 5 years in upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship experience, including at least 2 years as a Culinary Team Leader.
  • A culinary school degree is required, along with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills are essential.
  • Intermediate computer software skills and basic accounting principles understanding are necessary.
