Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Analysis and Improvement:
    • Analyze current ship management processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement process improvement strategies and initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce costs.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and continuously refine processes for optimal performance.
    • Collaborate with QHSE teams to integrate safety and regulatory requirements into process improvement initiatives.
    • Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead and manage process improvement projects from conception through to completion.
    • Coordinate with various departments to ensure successful project implementation.
    • Develop project plans, set milestones, and track progress against goals.
  • Training and Development:
    • Work with the Training department to ensure understanding and adoption of new processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with ship managers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback on process improvements.
    • Maintain effective communication channels to ensure alignment and support for improvement initiatives.
  • Technology and Innovation:
    • Work together with the Technology department to drive the implementation of digital solutions and innovation to streamline operations.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications and Experience:
    • Currently working as a technical or marine superintendent with sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Master.
    • At least one year's shore-based experience focusing on operational improvement or Safety & Quality function of a shipping or ship management organization.
    • Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and projects.
    • Experience with project management, lean methodologies, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in using process improvement tools and software.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Strategic thinking and ability to see the big picture.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
