The Scrum Master is a key team member who facilitates the Scrum framework's adoption and helps teams optimize their processes.

  • Leads coaching of the team/organization in its Scrum implementation
  • Guides the team on how to use Scrum practices and values for customer satisfaction
  • Assists the team in achieving self-organization goals
  • Identifies intentional gaps in Agile/Scrum frameworks and assists in filling them
  • Assesses Scrum maturity levels and coaches teams to higher levels
  • Removes impediments or guides the team to remove impediments with appropriate personnel
  • Collaborates with the Product Owner and Scrum Team to negotiate the minimum viable product
  • Cultivates a safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of judgment or retribution
  • Facilitates getting work done through facilitation, not coercion
  • Facilitates discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Supports internal and external communication, transparency, and information dissemination
  • Assists the Product Owner with backlog grooming and maintenance
  • Engages with other Scrum Masters for improved Scrum application effectiveness
  • Provides servant leadership support to the team, leading by example

Requirements and Qualifications

","
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a development team diligently applying Scrum principles
  • Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling intentional gaps in Scrum
  • Hands-on experience in technology teams
  • Knowledge of Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD
  • Knowledge and/or experience with successful Agile techniques, tools & approaches: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, Jira, Burn-down techniques
