Production Merchandising Role Overview

The Production Merchandiser plays a vital role in managing product development, merchandising, sourcing, supplier management, logistics coordination, and quality control. This individual will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of production while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development:
    • Review samples for construction, fall, fit, drape, and wash.
    • Source materials and negotiate with suppliers.
    • Timely production as per design requirements.
  • Logistics Coordination:
    • Align raw materials (fabrics, trims & accessories), job workers (print, dyeing, embroidery), and internal/external production teams for smooth delivery.
  • Sourcing and Vendor Management:
    • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with partners and vendors.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors.
    • Maintain cost-effective and high-quality production processes.
  • Quality Control:
    • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
    • Conduct inspections and oversee testing of materials and finished products.
  • Reporting and Coordination:
    • Collaborate with various teams (Design, production, procurement, category) to ensure seamless operations.
    • Prepare daily detailed logs and updates to track progress.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of experience in PD, buying, merchandising, and production roles.
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
