About Lease Accounting
This role supports the company's technical and operational lease accounting function to ensure complete and accurate financial close, internal, and external reporting, and the end-to-end lease cycle.
The position is highly collaborative and highly visible given the lease accounting risk to the financial statements and important stakeholders (lease admin / legal, accounts payable, financial reporting, corporate accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, etc.).
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining proper accounting and documentation of all activity in accordance with U.S. GAAP and in compliance with internal and external audits.
- Performing analysis of legal documents and determining lease classification in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
- Reviewing lease classification testing in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
- Collaborating with senior staff on a regular basis.
- Completing month-end close processes including subledger work in CoStar, general ledger entries, and internal and external financial reporting deliverables, including reconciliations, roll forwards, footnotes, and controls.
- Collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of lease transactions.
