Job Posting: Experienced Property Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated property accountant to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for managing accounting processes and ensuring financial accuracy for our U.S.-based clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, including lease accounting, CAM reconciliation, and U.S. GAAP standards. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing recurring bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients, ensuring consistent and accurate financial reporting.
  • Performing monthly and quarter-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled properly.
  • Preparing quarterly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) within a 60-day window from the end of the quarter, adhering to U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Reconciling accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and balanced.
  • Reviewing transactions and processes, identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial records comply with U.S. GAAP.
  • Overseeing the CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliation process for clients, ensuring proper allocation and accurate billing for shared expenses.
  • Reviewing and managing lease agreements, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of lease liabilities, assets, and related expenses in line with U.S. GAAP (ASC 842).
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in lease accounting and U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Proven experience working with U.S.-based clients, with a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application to accounting processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, including lease accounting, CAM reconciliation, and other U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to ensure data accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new processes, software, and technologies.
