About the Opportunity:
Commercial Property Accountants are responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial properties owned by various investors. They meet lender, tax, and investor requirements while working closely with third-party property teams who manage day-to-day accounting operations using an accounting platform.
The role involves overseeing overall property-level accounting, including rent rolls and lease maintenance, cash management, financial reports, annual budgets, and quarterly budget re-projections. It also entails tax basis amortization and depreciation calculations, providing support to third-party MRI users, reviewing and approving operating and tax escalations, and managing loan compliance.
The successful candidate will have experience in property accounting, specifically in commercial real estate, with knowledge of fair value GAAP, tax accounting, and IFRS. Experience with TRS, tenant recoveries (CAM), waterfall calculations, and loan compliance is also desirable.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and multitask while being detail-oriented. Proficiency in financial software systems applications, especially MRI, is a plus.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a team player who can provide comprehensive audit support, prepare unaudited and audited financial reports, and work collaboratively with other departments.
