
Strategic Business Development Manager

This is a dynamic role that will focus on driving customer retention and expansion through effective management of the account portfolio, ensuring successful project delivery, and prospecting for new cross-sell and upsell opportunities. As a key business development professional, you will be responsible for managing relationships with existing clients to drive revenue growth while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Account Management:
- Nurture and expand existing customer relationships to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Monitor and analyze customer data to identify potential areas for growth and opportunities for cross-sell and upsell.
- Develop strategic plans to increase revenue from existing customers.
- Solution Development:
- Work closely with customers to understand their business needs and develop tailored solutions to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and lead generation activities.
- Project Delivery:
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of projects to meet customer expectations.
- Manage project budgets and timelines to achieve financial goals.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve any project-related issues.
This role requires an individual who has strong business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in business development or sales, and possess a strong understanding of bioinformatics platforms and technologies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Experience: 5+ years in customer-facing roles, with a focus on business development, customer success, or solution selling (Bioinformatics/Life Sciences preferred)
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of bioinformatics platforms; experience in cloud/software/ML is a plus
- Customer Relationship Management: Proven ability to manage client relationships, uncover opportunities for cross-sell/upsell, and ensure solutions align with business objectives
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work across teams
Advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or a related field. Proven track record of delivering high-value solutions and driving customer growth. Experience working with complex technologies and software applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to collect and analyze data to inform business decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
