Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Application L2 Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing second-level technical support for critical backend applications and infrastructure in a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support for complex application issues escalated from L1 support, ensuring minimal system downtime.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability using various tools and dashboards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across multiple technology stacks and environments.
- Execute and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide round-the-clock support for critical systems.
- Collaborate with development teams and other stakeholders to implement fixes and improvements.
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis for major incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews.
- Help implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for early detection of potential issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and procedures.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Application Support or similar IT roles.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux environments and cloud-based applications.
- Experience with AWS services and architecture, including CloudWatch for log analysis.
- Familiarity with container technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure as code concepts (e.g., Terraform).
- Experience with database management and troubleshooting, particularly Redis and Oracle.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and common deployment issues.
- Familiarity with API concepts and troubleshooting API-related issues.
- Experience with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and ITIL processes.
- Basic understanding of application performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic).
- Experience with log analysis tools like Elasticsearch/Kibana.
- Ability to write and maintain shell scripts for automation and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
- Experience in FinTech or other highly regulated industries.
- ITIL foundation certification.
- Experience with additional monitoring and observability tools.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
